Thermopore is the common Pakistani market name for expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam sheets — the most economical way to insulate a roof or wall against summer heat. It also doubles as packaging, floating boards and decoration material, all at factory-direct rates.
What Thermopore Sheets Are and How They Work
Thermopore sheets are rigid foam boards made by expanding polystyrene beads with steam and moulding them into blocks, which are then cut to sheet sizes. The sheet is roughly 95–98% trapped air locked inside tiny closed cells — and still air is one of the best insulators available. When fixed over a roof or inside a wall, the sheet blocks conducted heat from reaching your rooms, cutting indoor temperatures by several degrees and reducing air-conditioning load.
In Pakistan’s climate, where rooftop slab temperatures can exceed 60°C in June, a 2-inch EPS sheet with a protective screed can reduce ceiling-surface temperature by 8–15°C. For commercial buildings this translates directly into lower electricity bills during the long summer season.

All sizes available: thermopore sheets are manufactured in every standard size and thickness, and cut to your exact required size on order. Send your dimensions on WhatsApp at 0333-4673836.
Custom sizes and higher densities (up to 40 kg/m³) are available on order. Higher density means harder, stronger sheets with slightly better insulation — but also higher price. For most home roofs in Pakistan, 20–24 kg/m³ density at 1.5″–2″ thickness is the sweet spot between cost and performance.
How to Choose Thickness and Density
- Residential roof: 1.5″–2″ at 20–24 kg/m³ — the sweet spot for most homes.
- Commercial/industrial roof: 2″–3″ at 24–32 kg/m³ for foot traffic and heavier screeds.
- Cold rooms: 2″–3″ at 28 kg/m³+; freezers need 3″–4″.
- Walls and packaging: 1″ at 16–20 kg/m³ is enough; low density 12–16 kg/m³ suits craft use.
FR Grade Thermopore Sheets (Fire Retardant)
FR grade thermopore sheets are fire-retardant EPS sheets manufactured with flame-retardant additives. Standard thermopore catches fire and melts; FR grade resists ignition and self-extinguishes when the flame source is removed. For schools, hospitals, commercial buildings, factories and any project where fire safety matters, FR grade is the sheet to specify.
FR Grade vs Standard Thermopore
| Factor | Standard Thermopore | FR Grade Thermopore |
|---|---|---|
| Fire behaviour | Ignites and melts | Resists ignition, self-extinguishing |
| Insulation performance | Same | Same |
| Weight & sizes | Same | Same |
| Price | Standard rate | Slightly higher (additives cost) |
| Best for | Homes, packaging, general use | Schools, hospitals, commercial & industrial buildings |
Where FR Grade Is Required
- Schools, colleges & hospitals — fire-safety compliance
- Commercial plazas & offices — false ceilings and wall insulation
- Factories & warehouses — especially near heat sources
- High-rise residential — building safety requirements
Ordering FR grade: FR sheets are made to order in any thickness (½”–4″) and size. Tell us “FR grade” on WhatsApp at 0333-4673836 and we’ll quote accordingly — allow a few extra days for production.

Installation Notes
For roofs, sheets are laid butt-jointed over a cleaned slab, joints sealed, then covered with a 1–1.5″ cement screed or tiles — never leave EPS exposed to sun, as UV degrades it. For walls, fix with adhesive and mechanical anchors before plastering. Avoid laying sheets on dusty or uneven slabs, leaving joint gaps (heat bridges), or using low-density sheets under heavy screed. Sheets cut easily with a hot wire or fine saw, keeping labour cost low.

FAQs
What is the difference between thermopore, thermocol, and EPS? They are names for the same material — expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam. “Thermopore” is the most common trade name in Pakistan.
How long do thermopore sheets last on a roof? 20–25 years or more when covered with a screed or tiles and protected from UV and standing water. The foam itself does not rot.
Are thermopore sheets waterproof? EPS absorbs very little water (under 2–3% by volume even after long immersion), but it is not a waterproofing membrane. If your roof leaks, fix the waterproofing first, then insulate — insulation under a leaking slab will trap moisture.
Can thermopore sheets catch fire? Standard EPS is combustible like most plastics, so keep sheets away from open flame and welding sparks. For projects where fire safety matters, we manufacture FR (fire-retardant) grade thermopore sheets made to order in any thickness from ½″ to 4″ — FR grade resists ignition and self-extinguishes when the flame source is removed, making it suitable for schools, hospitals, factories and commercial buildings. FR grade costs slightly more due to the additives; message us on WhatsApp at 0333-4673836 for a quote.
Do you deliver outside Lahore? Yes. We supply across Pakistan including Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar, Quetta, Sialkot and Gujranwala. Transport is arranged via goods transporters; cost depends on volume and destination.
Are thermopore sheets good for poultry farm insulation? Yes — poultry farm insulation is one of the most common uses of thermopore sheets in Pakistan. Fixed under the shed roof, 1.5″–2″ sheets cut radiant heat dramatically, keeping birds cooler in summer and reducing fan load. For metal poultry sheds, many farmers combine thermopore with a jumbolon layer for the best result.
Can thermopore sheets insulate a cold store? Yes. Cold store insulation with 2″–4″ high-density thermopore sheets is standard practice for potato, fruit and dairy cold stores across Punjab and KP. For freezers below −10°C we usually recommend PU panels, but for chillers at 2–8°C, EPS sheets with sealed joints perform reliably and cost less.
What is the minimum order quantity? For standard sizes there is effectively no minimum — you can order a few sheets. To order, send your thickness, sheet count and city on WhatsApp at 0333-4673836 or email info@thermomaster.pk. Custom sizes are cut to your exact requirements (a small cutting charge applies) and need a minimum quantity, which we confirm when you request a quote. Bulk orders of 100+ sheets unlock dealer pricing.
What thickness of thermopore sheet should I use for my roof and walls? For most home roofs in Pakistan, 1.5″–2″ sheets at 20–24 kg/m³ hit the sweet spot between cost and performance. Use 2″–3″ at 24–32 kg/m³ for commercial or industrial roofs that carry foot traffic and heavier screeds. For walls, 1″ sheets at 16–20 kg/m³ are enough. Cold rooms need 2″–3″ at 28 kg/m³ or more, and freezers need 3″–4″.
What factors affect thermopore sheet prices in Pakistan? Four things drive the price: thickness (thicker sheets cost more), density (higher-density sheets cost more), size (custom-cut sizes carry a cutting charge), and grade (FR fire-retardant grade costs slightly more due to additives). Order volume matters too — bulk orders of 100+ sheets unlock dealer pricing, and delivery outside Lahore adds transport cost. All prices on this page are indicative factory-gate ranges; message us on WhatsApp at 0333-4673836 for current rates.
